Terms and Conditions
House Terms for Theam Berttable Card Lounge & Grill
Please review these Terms and Conditions carefully. Entering the venue, reserving a poker table, joining a Texas Hold'em tournament or dining with us signifies your agreement to these provisions.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all guests, diners, tournament participants and visitors to Theam Berttable. They should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
1. Introduction & Agreement
These Terms and Conditions outline the rules, obligations and policies for guests, members and visitors of our boutique card lounge and grill restaurant, trading as Theam Berttable. By entering the premises, joining our offline poker activities, using the card room, registering for Texas Hold'em tournaments or Pot-Limit Omaha events, or accessing any of our offline or digital services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms and Conditions, you should not enter the premises, participate in card room activities, make a reservation or otherwise use our services.
2. Venue Access & Membership
Access to the card room, poker lounge and dining facilities is strictly limited to guests aged 18 years and above. You may be required to present valid photographic identification that complies with Australian law before entering or remaining on the premises, or before joining any offline poker activity.
Certain Texas Hold'em tournaments, Pot-Limit Omaha events, leaderboard seasons and private high roller bookings may be restricted to registered members or pre-approved guests. We may require advance reservation, completion of a registration form and agreement to additional event-specific rules before confirming participation. Membership or event registration is granted at our sole discretion and may be suspended or cancelled if you breach these Terms and Conditions or any applicable house rules.
3. Responsible Social Play Policy
Theam Berttable is committed to promoting responsible, social and enjoyable offline poker. All card room activities and tournaments are conducted using tournament chips, points and leaderboard rankings only. All play is strictly recreational, and is designed to highlight strategic play, chip stack management and the social atmosphere of face-to-face card room competition.
There is no cash wagering, no cash games and no prize payout of monetary value under any circumstances on the premises. Prizes, where offered, are limited to experiences, hospitality inclusions, venue credits in chip or points format, trophies, titles or similar non-monetary acknowledgements as described in the relevant event information. By joining any offline poker activity at Theam Berttable you agree not to arrange or participate in any private cash-based side arrangements or similar activity on-site.
4. Reservations, Bookings & Attendance
Advance bookings for poker tables, Texas Hold'em tournaments, Pot-Limit Omaha events, dining services or private event suites are strongly recommended to ensure availability. Bookings may be requested via our Contact & Table Bookings page or by any other official booking channel we make available from time to time.
Reserved seats, tables and suites are held for the booking time stated in your confirmation. We reserve the right to release unclaimed reservations if you arrive late or fail to check in with our host team within a reasonable grace period, as determined at our discretion. Where applicable, pre-paid entry fees in chips or points formats may be subject to specific cancellation or change rules communicated at the time of booking.
If you need to amend or cancel a reservation, you must contact us promptly using the details provided on the Contact & Table Bookings page. We may apply reasonable change or cancellation conditions, particularly for larger group bookings or private high roller lounge events, and we reserve the right to request a deposit or pre-authorisation to secure such bookings.
5. Dress Code & Conduct Standards
Theam Berttable maintains a smart casual dress code to complement our light, sophisticated card room and grill environment. Sportswear, beachwear or clothing featuring offensive language or imagery may not be permitted. Final decisions regarding dress requirements rest with management and our front-of-house team.
All guests are expected to conduct themselves respectfully towards other players, dealers, hosts and staff at all times. Any behaviour that is disruptive, offensive, aggressive, discriminatory, intimidating or otherwise inconsistent with a refined social poker environment may result in immediate removal from the card room or venue at management’s discretion, and may affect your eligibility for future reservations or tournament registration.
6. Card Room Rules & Etiquette
All offline poker games at Theam Berttable are conducted by professional dealers to ensure fair play, consistent blind structures and accurate tracking of chip stacks and tournament progression. Dealers’ decisions regarding the application of house rules, card rulings, chip movements and seating arrangements are final, subject to review by the card room manager where necessary.
Players are required to follow the posted card room etiquette and any event-specific rules communicated before or during a tournament. This includes appropriate chip handling, maintaining the integrity of your own chip stacks, respecting table talk guidelines, refraining from collusive behaviour and complying with our mobile phone and device policy. In general, phones should not be used while you are in an active hand, and any use must not disrupt the flow of play or compromise the integrity of offline poker activity.
We may adjust seating, chip stacks in accordance with official rules, blind structure timings, level durations or table allocations for operational or fairness reasons. Repeated or serious breaches of card room etiquette may result in penalties, removal from a tournament, or being asked to leave the premises.
7. Privacy & Data Protection
Theam Berttable abides by applicable Australian privacy standards and legislation. Personal information you provide for reservations, tournament registration, membership, event participation or communications is collected and managed securely and is used only for operational, hospitality, marketing or legal purposes as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
By supplying your contact details, you consent to us using those details to confirm bookings, provide schedule updates, share relevant tournament information such as blind structure changes or chip stack guidelines, and, where you have given the appropriate consent, to send marketing communications. You may update your communication preferences or request access to, or correction of, your personal information as set out in the Privacy Policy.
8. Photography & Media Consent
From time to time, Theam Berttable may capture photography, video or other media during tournaments, dining services, high roller events or general card room activity for promotional, archival or brand storytelling purposes. This imagery may include wide venue scenes, table layouts, chip stacks, blind level displays and, occasionally, guests enjoying offline poker and hospitality.
If you do not wish to be included in such material, please notify a member of staff on arrival or at the time of photography so that reasonable steps can be taken to accommodate your preferences. Where required by law, we will seek specific consent prior to using identifiable images in publication.
9. Food, Beverage & Service Policies
All food, beverage and hospitality services at Theam Berttable are subject to our current menu, availability of ingredients and seasonal adjustments. While we take care to communicate key dietary information, guests are responsible for advising our team of any allergies or dietary requirements before ordering so that we can provide guidance on suitable options.
Service of alcoholic beverages is managed in accordance with Australian Responsible Service of Alcohol laws and our venue licence conditions. We reserve the right to decline service or entry to any guest who is intoxicated, behaves in an uncooperative manner or otherwise presents safety or welfare concerns. Such decisions may be made at the sole discretion of our management and host team.
10. Changes, Updates & Contact
Theam Berttable may amend, update or replace these Terms and Conditions, or any related house policies, card room rules, blind structure guidelines or booking conditions at any time. Any material updates will be reflected on this page, and the revised version will apply from the date it is posted.
If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions, or wish to raise a concern relating to venue access, card room conduct, privacy or reservations, please contact our management team using the details provided on the Contact & Table Bookings page.
